Medical Director of the Center for Diagnostic and Preventive Medicine 

FMH-accredited specialist in General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Pioneer in the development of biology of aging and anti-aging medicine.

Professor Jacques Proust was born in France, where he started his career in Parisian hospitals as an internal medicine physician and geriatrician.

He then specialized in the biology of aging at the Gerontology Research Center at NIH in Baltimore (USA) for 10 years, later on deepening his biology of aging knowledge at the University of John Hopkins. Following his sojourn in the United States, he then supervised the Biology of Aging Laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine (Geneva University Hospitals) before creating one of the very first European age-prevention centers at the Clinique de Genolier, with the objective of providing patients with the latest scientific advancements linked to the prevention and treatment of pathophysiological processes associated with age.

Professor Proust is the author of numerous scientific publications within the biology of aging domain. In addition to his professional activity within the clinic, he consecrates a part of his time to research and holds a position as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva. Using his numerous years of fundamental research within the senescence domain, Professor Jacques Proust has developed a deep interest in therapeutic strategies to slow down the effects of aging on the human body.

As the largest and most exposed organ, skin naturally peaked his scientific interest. Thanks to his knowledge within biological mechanisms at the root of the aging process, Professor Jacques Proust is the leading player within Nescens cosmeceuticals and the source of numerous scientifically validated products. Today, he is the Medical Director of Nescens Preventive Medicine Center within the Clinique de Genolier and Scientific Director of the Nescens brand.

Medical Director of the Center for Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases

FMH-accredited specialist in Internal Medicine, FMH Specialist in Endocrinology and Diabetology, Professor and Privat-Docent, Faculty of Medicine of Geneva.

Professor Jacques Philippe graduated from medical school in Geneva in 1978 before completing his training in internal medicine at the Geneva University Hospitals, the University of Tennessee, and Harvard University, where he specialised in endocrinology and diabetology.

Upon his return to Geneva, he set up his laboratory within the Faculty of Medicine’s Microbiology Department and joined Diabetology Unit of the Geneva University Hospitals.

He became chief physician of the newly created endocrinology and diabetology department before being named as its head in 1998. His research focuses on the expression and regulation of the insulin and glucagon genes, the genetics of diabetes, and the transplantation of islets of Langerhans.

A laureate of several awards, he has received the Cloëtta Prize and his achievements have been recognised by the Capps Foundation of Harvard, the Diabetes Research and Education Foundation, the Fondation Suisse du Diabète, and the Société Suisse de Médecine Interne. He is also the co-founder and president of the Société Suisse d’Endocrinologie et Diabétologie, the president of the Société Médicale de Genève, and a council member of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes.

Privatdocent of the Faculty of Medicine in 1990, then Associate Professor in 1995, he was named Professor in 1998. He was also Vice-Dean for Research from 2003 to 2011 and President of the Collège des Chefs de Service from 2013 to 2018.

He is now a Physician at the Centre for Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases of Nescens Clinique de Genolier.

Physiotherapy Center

The Physiotherapy Center at Clinique de Genolier consists of more than 10 physiotherapists specialized in orthopedic, traumatological (often sporting) and general rehabilitation. The physiotherapist works with patients suffering from acute or chronic diseases, injuries or disabilities, and postural problems, but also with healthy and athletic people.

A paramedical discipline, physiotherapy is useful in preventive health and health promotion, as well as in the assessment, expertise and treatment of impairments and disabilities affecting the musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiorespiratory systems of the human body.

The Physiotherapy Center is fitted with all the state-of-the-art equipment specifically designed for rehabilitation. In particular, it has an isokinetic device for muscular assessments and specific joint rehabilitation of feet, knees and shoulders. This machine is aimed at the assessment of muscular strength of the upper and lower limbs, and allows for the evaluation of the development of different stages of rehabilitation.
